Attendance Calculator
Track your attendance percentage, calculate classes needed to reach 75% or 85%, and find how many classes you can safely miss.
Your attendance is currently exactly at your 75% target. Attend the next class to stay safe.
Attendance Tracking & 75% Rule Mathematics
Calculates your current attendance percentage and determines the exact number of future classes you must attend to meet criteria or how many you can safely bunk.
Calculation Steps
- 1Enter total classes conducted to date and total classes you attended.
- 2Compute current percentage: (Attended / Total) * 100.
- 3If below target criteria (e.g. 75%), calculate consecutive future lectures you must attend.
- 4If above target criteria, calculate how many upcoming lectures you can safely miss without dipping below threshold.
Practical Example
Scenario: Attended 48 out of 70 classes conducted, target is 75% attendance
Inputs: Attended: 48 | Total: 70 | Target: 75% (0.75)
Calculation: Current % = (48 / 70) * 100 = 68.57%. Classes needed = ceil((0.75 * 70 - 48) / (1 - 0.75)) = ceil((52.5 - 48) / 0.25) = ceil(18) = 18 classes.
Result: Current Attendance: 68.57% | Must attend 18 consecutive classes without absence
Assumptions & Disclaimers
Key Assumptions:
- Future classes are attended consecutively with 100% attendance until target is reached.
- Target attendance threshold is typically 75% or 85% as mandated by UGC/colleges.
Medical leave policies and institutional attendance relaxations vary by institution. Always consult your college administration or student handbook.
